Wheeling Gateway Center Survey Results

Thank you to all who took part in our public survey! Over a 60 day period, we had more than 4,200 users submit their input to help the project team understand what the community values in this transformative project. Check out a snapshot of the results above.

The Community Has Spoken

The Wheeling Gateway Center provided a unique opportunity to build a space for the community from a blank canvass. Before the design team started their work, the project stakeholders launched a one-of-a-kind campaign via this platform. It was requested that the community upload photos that inspired them and that they would like to see incorporated into the design. Over 100 photos showcasing architectural elements and onsite experiences were submitted. These photos received more than a thousand likes and comments as the community visually voted and ranked what they wanted the Gateway Center to look like.

That campaign and dataset has been extremely beneficial to the design team as they strive to create a space that reflects the vision of the community. Above is the summary of the inspirational photos gathered via this platform.
